They say good work speaks for itself. But in reality? It only whispers – unless you give it a little stage time. I recently found my work featured on DesignRush’s list of The Best Banking and Finance Print Designs, and while it was a pleasant surprise, it didn’t happen by magic. It happened because I did the work and made sure people could see it.
When I started out, I had this idea that great work alone would draw people in, like some magnetic masterpiece effect. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t work that way. Unless you’re already on everyone’s radar, people aren’t just going to stumble upon your portfolio. The real magic is in sharing, posting, and, yes, optimizing for search engines so your work is ready for the spotlight when someone comes looking.
I’m genuinely grateful for this feature, and it’s a reminder that building a path to your work can be as important as creating it. So if you’re putting time and passion into what you create, don’t keep it in the shadows. Show your work. Share it widely. Give it the chance to be seen, and let it do the talking.
After all, you never know who’s out there looking for exactly what you’re creating.
